Important Updates and Reminders

School attendance has a direct impact on academic achievement. In order to make the most of educational opportunities, students must have consistent, punctual daily attendance. Students must be in the classroom when attendance is taken to be counted present. Please ensure your child attends school on a daily basis and arrives on time. Excessive absences, tardies and early dismissals are recorded and will be reported to the Wayne County Prosecutor's office.

During inclement weather conditions, students may enter the building at 7:55 a.m.
All students who arrive to school late must be signed in by their parent/legal guardian.
All exterior doors will close promptly at 8:10 a.m. Tardy students arriving after 8:10 a.m. will enter through the Pembroke doors only. A parent/legal guardian will be required to sign in all tardy students arriving after 8:10.
 
For the safety and security of our students and staff, all parents/visitors must use the main entrance (Pembroke lobby) and report to the upper school office.
 
Entrance/Dismissal doors
  • Pre-K, Kindergarten & 1st graders will enter/exit thru the Beech Daly doors (dismissal @ 3:10 p.m.)
  • 2nd thru 4th graders will enter/exit thru the Olympia parking lot doors (dismissal @ 3:15 p.m.)
  • 5th/6th graders will enter/exit thru the Pembroke doors near Olympia (dismissal @ 3:15 p.m.)
  • 7th/8th graders will enter/exit thru the Pembroke doors near Olympia (dismissal @ 3:20 p.m.)
    *Students with siblings will exit together via the Pembroke doors (near the upper school office) @ 3:15 p.m.

Lunch times
  • Kindergarten & Grades 1-2 will eat lunch between 10:45-11:15 a.m.
  • Grades 3 & 4 will eat lunch between 11:25-11:55 a.m.
  • Grades 7 & 8 eat lunch between 12:00-12:30 p.m.
  • Grades 5 & 6 will eat lunch between 12:40-1:10 p.m.
 
Please remember to complete and submit your Household Survey and Emergency Contact forms to your child's conference teacher tomorrow morning (Monday, September
10, 2018).
 
Early Check-Outs/Emergency Pick-ups.
A child will only be released to an authorized parent/legal guardian or to an adult (age 21 and over) designated on the application. Transportation services must be listed on the application as well.
 
Under Child Protective Service of Wayne County, any child left behind more than 15 minutes without parent contact initiated via school or parent could result in the incident being reported to Child Protective Services (CPS).
