Parent Update

Now that warmer has arrived, students will not be permitted to enter the building prior to the 7:50 a.m. bell with the exception of Pre-K thru 1st grade students. During inclement weather conditions, students may enter 10 minutes prior to the start of school. Do keep in mind:

Early Drop Off occurs when students are on school grounds 15 MINUTES before doors open. This also applies to any school related function and even when the student is in a vehicle.

Late-Pick Ups Students must be picked up no later than 3:35 PM. Students remaining on school property after 3:35 PM will be escorted to KidZone, our latchkey program. Parents will be assessed a $10.00 fee per child, payable upon arrival. Please be reminded, under the Child Protective Services laws of Wayne County, any child left behind for more than 15 minutes after dismissal without parent contact with school personnel, could result in an incident report being filed with Child Protective Services.

Early Check-outs A child will be released for early check out only to an authorized parent/guardian or to an adult designated on the application. Please make such arrangements in advance. Excessive early check-outs may result in a loss of funding to the Academy but more importantly, may impact your child(ren)'s ability to be promoted to the next grade, as well as retaining a spot on the Academy's roster. Students may not be signed out after 2:15 PM except in cases of emergency. Early checkouts greatly disrupt the learning process.

ALL STUDENTS MUST LEAVE SCHOOL GROUNDS BY 3:35 PM MONDAY - FRIDAY UNLESS ENROLLED IN AN APPROVED AFTER-SCHOOL OR ATHLETIC PROGRAM.
Parents please be reminded students are not allowed to re-enter the building or remain on campus after dismissal. I ask that you reconsider giving your child(ren) permission to cross Beech Daly to go to Rally's/Checkers. Children are crossing in the middle of the road which is extremely dangerous and we've had some near misses over the past couple weeks. There is nothing more important than your child's safety therefore, it's my hope you will support our stance regarding this matter.
